I was really happy this third party manufacturer came up with a grip cause the OEM is too expensive. Unfortunately and strangely I received a grip which according to the instructions will only work with LP-E5 eventhough it came with two LP-E8 batteries and the box says Compatible for Canon 550D. I noticed this as I tried to install the batteries and they seemed a little too big. So now Im stuck with a useless product and have no idea what to do. The one star is for the manufacturer and or seller not the product its self.

After looking at the Canon version and saw the price tag, I went looking for other options. I would rather spend the difference on a new lens. This is a great aftermarket piece. It looks very close to my t2i or 550d as they call across the ocean. The two batteries are a great add and the AA Battery adaptor can be a life saver in a pinch. If your unsure, just buy it because you would have bought the real alternative already if you were that picky.

I purchased this item on a Thursday and received it the following Monday…huh? wow! that was fast.

Took a chance with the product and company, price seemed to good to be true, so far so good!!!

The build quality down to the pattern of the rubber grip matched the T2i flawlessly. The 2 extra batteries charged quickly but I haven’t fully exhaust them to give a review on battery quality.

The price, the fact it came with 2 extra batteries (2 total) and optional AA battery tray is what made me take the leap of faith and purchase from this seller. I couldn’t be more please with this purchase and seller!!!

It’s nice to know with the boom of hdslr’s there’s a company out there that caters to the market with quality products at a more than reasonable price!

Got this rush delivery in time for a trip to Seattle this past weekend. Came on the early end of the delivery estimate. So thats good.

As far as the product itself, the quality is pretty good. I have the Targus brand grip for my old Rebel XT, and this is just about as good. I’m a little upset that mine does not sit completely flat in its upright position. It seems a little unbalanced (rounded) in the bottom center where the tripod mount is. However, this doesn’t affect its functionality. This is a really great value for what you’re getting, and its price leaves room for the more important things in photography.

This battery grip does exactly what it promises to do. It double’s your battery time and provides redundant shutter (w/half-press!) and function buttons when you rotate the camera 90 degrees for vertical shots. It provides an excellent grip platform and makes the camera much more comfortable to hold and use with surprisingly little added weight.

Fit and finish are good and blend perfectly with the body of the camera. It even allows you to use AA batteries in a pinch: such as when you find yourself on location and forgot to charge your battery-packs the night before. (Bear in mind, however, that the 6 AA batteries you will need to use give a little less juice than one, fully charged Li-ion battery pack. Plan accordingly.)

Finally, if you shoot any significant quantity of video with the T2i/550D, you will bless the day you made the exceedingly wise decision to buy a grip that double’s its battery capacity.

This grip is VERY inexpensive compared to other accessories you are going to find yourself buying and is one of the highest value to cost accessories you can find for your DSLR. Now that you have a T2i/550D, do you self a favor: buy (1) a good, name brand, class-6 SD card in as high a capacity as you can afford, (2) A lens hood, (3) the best fluid head tripod you can afford (for video), (4) a monopod, (5) a good camera bag, and (6) one of these battery grips. After that, you can start spending some real money on lenses, audio recording equipment, green screens, still and video editing software, a faster computer, etc. :)
